SPINE CHART - INSIDER'S GUIDE TO FANTASTIC NERVE FUNCTION

There's a lot of action in your spine!

For everyone who wants to be well, here's an insider's guide to fantastic nerve function:
Did you know the spine has 26 movable segments?
-5 cervical bones (neck)
-12 thoracic (upper and mid back)
-5 lumbar (lower back)
-the sacrum (with 5 fused segments)
-and coccyx (this also has 5 fused segments).

The spine acts as the protective "highway" where nerves travel, sending messages from the brain to the body, and from the body back up to the brain. Here are the intimate details of function (F) and effects (E) at each spinal level:

CERVICAL SPINE
1) C1 (Atlas)
(F) Provides Blood supply to the head, pituitary gland, scalp, bones of the face, brain, inner and middle ear + sympathetic nervous system.
(E) Headaches, migraine headaches, nervousness, insomnia, head colds, high blood pressure, amnesia, chronic tiredness, dizziness/vertigo.
2) C2 (Axis)
(F) Eyes, optic nerves, auditory nerves, sinuses, mastoid bones, tongue, forehead.
(E) Sinus trouble, allergies, crossed eyes, deafness, eye troubles, earache, fainting spells.
3) C3
(F) Cheeks, outer ear, face bones, teeth, trifacial nerve.

(E) Functional heart conditions and certain chest conditions.
3) T3

4) T4
(F) Gall Bladder, common duct.

(E) Cramps, difficult breathing, acidosis, varicose veins.
3) L3
(F) Sex organs, uterus, bladder, knees.
(E) Bladder troubles, menstrual troubles (painful or irregular periods), miscarriages, bed wetting, impotency, change of life symptoms, many knee pains.
4) L4
(F) Prostate gland, muscles of the lower back, sciatic nerve.
