FERTILITY NEWS LINKS - DR. MADELINE"S RESEARCH MAKES NEWS

Infertility is a tremendous problem that seems to becoming more widespread than ever..
I meet so many women with this heartbreaking experience that are looking for help.

In 2004 I directed a series of studies that offered infertile women hope.
Twelve studies looked at women from around the world, each with a history of infertility, and documented changes that occured after receiving chiropractic care. These women were of different ages, lived in different locations, had a variety of symptoms including headaches and backaches; several had a history of trauma from motor vehicle accidents or sports traumas.

Many of the women had previously miscarried or tried fertility treatment that failed.

After chiropractic care, all of the women became pregnant and delivered healthy babies (except one woman who was 65 years old).
Chiropractors had identified a specific spinal misalignments in all of these women, called vertebral subluxation, and corrected them through chiropractic adjustments.

These research findings created tremendous excitement in the media and infertility communities. The story was covered on TV around the country, including CBS and ABC, and appeared in print and online interviews and news features.

Most recently, RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association, explored Complementary and Holistic treatments in their Family Building magazine, Fall 2006 issue.
RESOLVE invited me to contribute the article on chiropractic, and I was very honored to participate.
Please visit the RESOLVE site for more details (link listed below).

Studies explore link between chiropractic care and fertility
Excerpt:
According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 6 million women in the United States are infertile, and over 9 million use some kind of infertility service.

A series of research papers published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research suggests that chiropractic adjustments, performed by chiropractors to address nerve interference caused by spinal distortions, could offer hope to many of these women.

The 12 studies in the series found that chiropractic had positive results regardless of the woman's age, number of years infertile, previous medical intervention or health history including miscarriages, blocked fallopian tubes, amenorrhea, colitis or trauma.....

...The stress histories of these infertile women included - but were not limited to - previous motor vehicle accidents, childhood falls, blocked fallopian tubes, scoliosis, and work that affected both mind and body. All of the women became pregnant after their vertebral sublixations were detected and corrected....

... "I asked 50 women in my local community if they knew where in the spine the nerves to the reproductive organs are," Dr. Behrendt stated....they were stunned this information is not commonly available."
